To be eligible for the TNPSC Group 1 Exam, candidates must meet certain educational qualifications, age limits, and other criteria as specified by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). Here are the key educational qualifications required: Educational Qualification Bachelor’s Degree: Candidates must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution. The degree must be awarded by a recognized university or institution as per the rules of the Tamil Nadu State Government. Degrees obtained through open universities or distance education programs must be recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Government of India, or the Government of Tamil Nadu. Additional Points to Consider Final Year Students: Candidates who are in their final year of their degree program are also eligible to apply, provided they can produce proof of passing the degree examination at the time of the main examination. Professional Qualifications: Degrees in professional courses such as Engineering, Medicine, Law, etc., are also considered valid. Language Proficiency: Candidates must possess adequate knowledge of the Tamil language. Those who do not have Tamil as a subject in their school education may need to pass a Tamil language proficiency test conducted by TNPSC within a specified period after selection.
